Tour Duration: 08:30 – 17:30 (each day)
Departure Point: Your hotel in Izmir

Day 1: Pergamon & Thyatira
Begin your pilgrimage with a visit to Pergamon, once a powerful Greco-Roman city and an early center of Christianity. As one of the Seven Churches addressed in the Book of Revelation, Pergamon is associated with the “throne of Satan” and the martyr Antipas. Highlights include the Acropolis, the Altar of Zeus, the Library of Pergamon, and the ancient theater perched dramatically on the hillside.

Continue to Thyatira, now the modern city of Akhisar. Though less visibly preserved than other sites, Thyatira was commended in Revelation for its faith and service, yet admonished for tolerating false prophecy. Visit its modest ruins, including the remains of a basilica and Roman street, while reflecting on its spiritual legacy.

Day 2: Sardis, Philadelphia & Laodicea
The second day begins with Sardis, once the capital of ancient Lydia and famed for its wealth. The Book of Revelation portrays Sardis as a city with a reputation for being alive, though spiritually dead. You'll visit the impressive gymnasium complex, synagogue, and the remains of the Temple of Artemis.

Next is Philadelphia, the church praised for its endurance and faith. Though few ruins remain, the atmosphere of ancient faith persists. You'll see remnants of a Byzantine church that once stood as a symbol of steadfast belief.

Finish the day at Laodicea, a city known for its wealth and self-sufficiency, yet criticized in Revelation for being “lukewarm.” Here, explore extensive ruins including the stadium, theaters, churches, and colonnaded streets. Laodicea offers some of the most impressive Christian ruins in Turkey.

Day 3: Smyrna & Ephesus
Your final day begins in Smyrna (modern Izmir), the city praised for its faith amidst persecution. Visit the Agora of ancient Smyrna, where early Christians once walked, and hear the story of Polycarp, the bishop martyred for his unwavering belief.

Conclude the journey in Ephesus, perhaps the most prominent of the seven churches. Ephesus was a major center of early Christianity and the site of several key biblical events. Explore the grand Library of Celsus, the Great Theater, the Temple of Hadrian, and early Christian sites including the Church of Mary, believed to have hosted the Third Ecumenical Council. This powerful end to the tour combines history, faith, and unforgettable ruins.
